Planners not only need robust ceiling luminaires with a high protection rating for transitional areas between indoors and outdoors, but also for projects such as underground stations. The new WE-EF DAC100 surface-mounted downlights, DAS100-PM suspended pendant downlights, and DAS100 and ZFS400 catenary luminaires form a flexible system with a wide range of lighting possibilities, intelligent mounting solutions and plenty of scope for individual design.
The new luminaires use the precise and efficient LED lighting technology and are simple and flexible to position on buildings and architecture – as surface-mounted and suspended luminaires or as catenary luminaires for mounting on cables. Thus, they offer a wide scope for lighting design – for example, when buildings are refurbished. With their clear cylindrical shape, they enhance buildings, and as suspended luminaires arranged in groups or rows, they help to effectively illuminate structure spaces.
The modularity of the DAC & DAS lines allow for complete form factor uniformity and variety: fixture diameters of 4.3 in, 5.5 in, and 7.7 in; fixture heights of 7.48 in, 9.84 in, and 11.81 in; even the pendant cable can be specified to different heights for the DAS100-PM. This enables the proportions of the luminaires to be individually adapted to the specific architecture of your project.
New DAC100 surface-mounted luminaires can either be mounted directly on a ceiling with their mounting flange or on a 1.2 in. high adapter that allows cable entry from the side and through-wiring – allowing a particularly simple and straightforward installation, especially in existing buildings. The suspension system for the DAS100-PM suspended luminaires consists of a ceiling canopy, two wire cables and the supply cable for the two larger sizes. The length of the suspension cable is variable up to a maximum 1.5 ft, which enables the luminaires to be individually adapted to the specific architecture. Special drainage openings prevent water from collecting on the top of the suspended luminaires – another example of WE-EF’s attention to detail.
Featuring the same precise and efficient LED lighting technology as the DAC100 surface-mounted luminaires and the DOC100 recessed luminaires, new DAS100 catenary luminaires features a clear cylindrical design that can be harmoniously integrated into all kinds of urban environments. Its modular structure ensures a consistent design and lighting effect. The housings have space for optical accessories, and thanks to the optics set in the back of the housing, the luminaires have good glare control and are “dark sky” compliant.
WE-EF’s new ZFS400 catenary luminaires are a modern and minimalist reinterpretation of traditional streetlamps, seeming to float in the air on the cable with great visual clarity and without cluttering the urban landscape. The ZFS460 model has a robust body made of aluminum, with a diameter of 10.2 in that merges downwards into an open cylinder made of clear polycarbonate. The cable attachment concept, which is the heart of every catenary luminaire, offers particularly flexible suspension. Stainless steel is the material used for the connecting bracket, together with the 5CE corrosion protection of the luminaire housing, to ensure high durability.
